Have you filled out your water permit?

Anyone entering a body of water in Banff National Park with a SUP or Kayak (or other non-motorized watercraft) must fill out a water permit before heading out on the water. Permits are easy to complete, and doing so helps Parks Canada prevent the spread of invasive aquatic diseases.

You can easily fill out your permit online in advance, or complete it at the lake before you enter the water. You’ll find a self certification station with a permit drop box at all waterbody entrances and trailheads, as well as at visitor centres and trailheads.

After filling out your permit, let one of our Adventure Hub Staff members know which lake or waterbody you’ve visited, and we’ll take care of the rest by cleaning and drying each paddleboard and kayak between uses.
