SkiBig3 is currently recruiting for the permanent, full-time, year-round position of Adventure Hub Assistant Manager (Rentals) to join our team. The position is based at our retail and rental locations in both Banff (215 + 114 Banff Avenue) and Canmore (1350 Railway Ave).
Reporting to the Adventure Hub Manager, this position will focus on providing overall support of the Adventure Hub Manager operating our two Hub locations that provide a central distribution point for the fulfillment of rentals, pass products and lift tickets, as well as a one stop shop for destination merchandise and accessories. This role’s focus within the department will be overseeing the efficient and effective operation of rentals, while ensuring that we are upholding a high level of customer service and satisfaction.
Duties & Responsibilities Include:
- Lead a team to provide outstanding customer service in a busy retail/rental setting
- Provide guest and customer service support
- Oversee all store operations, including ski and snowboard rentals, retail sales, ski pass and ticket processing, as well as activity bookings
- Ensure store cleanliness
- Oversee staffing and scheduling between two locations
- Assist with seasonal hiring
- Lead rental process training and conduct regular reviews to ensure consistency of knowledge
- Arrange product knowledge sessions for rental fleet with brand representatives
- Delegate tasks and coordinate staff to ensure maximum productivity
- Receive rental equipment shipments and organize inventory.
- Monitor equipment tuning and damage checks
- Organize drivers and vehicle checks
- Coordinate rental and lift ticket deliveries.
- Ensure that payroll system is updated with schedules and review staff entries
- Assist with inventory control between locations and storage facilities
- Assist with equipment rental system management, not limited to troubleshooting errors and product and inventory maintenance
- Ensure storage location is organized
- Assist in seasonal flip for Banff location and open/closure of Canmore location
- Assist in year-end equipment inventory count
Skills, Experience and Education Required:
- Organized, efficient, responsible and mature
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Possess a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a supervisory role, ideally in the ski and snowboard industry
- Experience using POS systems and equipment management software, with the ability to troubleshoot operational and minor information technology issues.
- Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional customer service and resolve problems efficiently.
Strong interest in skiing and snowboarding; knowledge of mountain resort operations is considered an asset. - Ability to manage multiple tasks at the same time.
- Proven ability to learn and adapt quickly to changing work environments.
- Knowledge of ski and snowboard equipment and ability to adjust and repair skis, boards, bindings and boots.
- Knowledge of payroll and staff scheduling.
- Ability to work at both Banff and Canmore locations as required.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills required.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Compensation Includes:
- Vacation pay: will accumulate at 4% annually
