A full time/year round position of Adventure Hub Supervisor to join the SkiBig3 Adventure Hub team (immediate start).

SkiBig3 is currently recruiting for the full time/year round position of Adventure Hub Supervisor to join our team (immediate start). Reporting to the Adventure Hub Co-Managers, the primary focus of this role will be the direct back-up for Hub Co-Managers, with a focus on training of staff and assisting with the summer and winter merchandise purchase for the store. The position will also assist with promotions and atmosphere of the store, including window and store displays, whilst complying with Health and Safety regulations.

Organizational Relationships:

This position will be part of the SkiBig3 Adventure Hub team. Working with all SkiBig3 departments and Banff Sunshine, the Lake Louise Ski Resort and Mt Norquay. Banff/ Lake Louise /Canmore hotels and product suppliers.

Job Responsibilities

Duties & Responsibilities Include:

  • Assist with the purchasing of merchandise for the store (summer and winter buy) in alignment with the Co-Managers
  • Opening and closing of the retail & rental location
  • Promotion and sales of SkiBig3 Season Pass products
  • Ensure prompt, accurate reporting and cash reconciliations to accounting department
  • General Maintenance of store and reporting of problems (including interior and exterior of the building)
  • Ensure stock room is clean, tidy and organized and ensure merchandise is stored off of the floor
  • Supervision of staff and allocation of tasks
  • Responsible for merchandise computer processes and extensive knowledge of AXS Central and rentals system
  • Data Entry into systems to update and maintain products
  • Monitor customer service and product standards across rental, retail and guest services through the Guest Research surveys
  • Ensure daily quality assurance across all aspects of floor operation, included but not limited to, making sure skis in racks are tuned, retail displays are up to date, restocking and season pass waivers available
  • Ensure all AHS/COVID guidelines are met or exceeded.

General Housekeeping:

  • Enforcement of the cleaning list on a daily basis
  • Update the list and add relevant tasks
  • Attention to in-store display and store cleanliness
  • Ensure staff area downstairs is kept clean

Staffing & Training:

  • Assist with the staff training plan and checklist – responsible to update documents regularly
  • Staff Training on all Hub systems, procedures, policies – update documents regularly
  • Enforce Staff disciplinary procedures
  • Ski area training on SkiBig3 products

Communication:

  • Training of ski resort products – organizing product knowledge sessions for Snow School at the tri areas
  • Create and maintain an open and continual relationship with Ski Resort Guest Services and Rental Managers

Job Requirements/Qualifications

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Certificate in retail sports or management preferred
  • Previous retail/rental and merchandising experience required
  • Organized, efficient, responsible and mature
  • Previous supervisory experience required
  • Able to train, motivate, create team atmosphere during busy and slower periods
  • Friendly, outgoing, excellent guest service skills
  • Able to multitask with proven ability to learn and adapt quickly to changing work environments
  • Ability to troubleshoot guest problems, minor network and printer issues, and unexpected employee issues.
  • Good working knowledge of computers, data management systems and applications.
  • Capable of working independently and in a team environment

Other Requirements:

  • Candidate must reside in the Bow Valley
  • Valid working visa/work permit required
  • Valid Canadian drivers license an asset
