Your Rest Day Guide – Take Advantage of Your Time in Banff & Lake Louise

Whilst – yes- We want you to come and explore the mountains and shred as many days as possible; we also understand that we need those odd days off to rest our ski legs and explore the range of other activities that Banff & Lake Louise have to offer.

Thanks to the flexibility of a SkiBig3 lift ticket, we offer ‘grace days’ on multi-day lift tickets; giving you the freedom to choose when to hit the slopes and when to hit the snooze button.

Take the time to relax

Flow State Yoga

For those of you who are still looking to move, but at a slower pace. Enjoy an hour-long yoga session at Flow State Yoga in Banff. Choose from a range of different classes; from yin and meditation to vinyasa classes, and connect with mind, body and breath.

These classes are designed to suit any ability level and give a good opportunity to take it down a few notches from your days out on the mountain.

Spa Experiences

After a few days out on the mountain, your body can start to feel it. Explore the total relaxation package and opt in for a spa treatment at Cedar & Sage. Choose from a range of different treatment options to target those pain points, including reflexology, sauna and even sound therapies. If you’re looking for a more inclusive package, try the Fairmont Spa, giving you a half-day to try all the different amenities. Enjoy a relaxing massage, followed by 3 hours exploring the sauna and hot tubs. Come out feeling refreshed and ready for more days carving the mountains.

Ask anyone who has travelled to Banff National Park, and they’ll tell you that you can't leave without skating on the world-famous Lake Louise. With fresh snowfall most nights, the rink is cleared daily, ensuring safe and pristine skating conditions. You’ll also find opportunities to join a pick-up hockey game or skate amongst a massive ice castle. Skating is available for all ages mid-December to mid-April.

For some who may be more comfortable in an indoor setting – Fenlands Recreation Centre holds an indoor rink for all ages and abilities to enjoy. Only a short walk from downtown, you can take your skates for a ride and enjoy a night of fun and laughter.

Tubing
