Skiers and snowboarders get ready, the wait is finally over. With 1,450 vertical feet, three runs and select park features, the Giant of Canadian Skiing, Lake Louise Ski Resort, is officially opening tomorrow November 8th at 9am.
Recent snowstorms plus new and improved snow making facilities have bolstered conditions and allowed the scheduled opening to go ahead. The Glacier Chair will be whisking skiers and snowboarders up the mountain allowing access to three runs; Bald Eagle, Wiwaxy and Easy Street. A limited rail park will also be open on Wiwaxy for those wanting to test early season grinds.
What’s New This Season?
As well as continuing to be home to the annual Alpine Ski World Cup racing event, the Lake Louise Ski Resort will also host the Snowboard Cross World Cup for the first time. A new Lake Louise Ski Resort App will make it easier for guests to navigate around the mountain, meet friends and receive news updates. Plus there are significant improvements in on-mountain food and beverage services for better dining and après. And everyone loves après.
Skiers and boarders should note that Sunshine Village has postponed opening until mid-November when it will complete the trifecta of skiing at Canada’s Big 3 Resorts. Stay tuned for updates.
