The Best Slopeside Après in Banff National Park with SkiBig3

After a full day (or half-day) of chasing turns and soaking up mountain air, there’s nothing better than wrapping things up slopeside with a cold drink, good mates and big Rocky Mountain views. At SkiBig3, the skiing might be world-class, but the après scene is where stories are shared, and the day really comes together. From cozy log cabins to sun-soaked patios and DJ-fueled afternoons, each resort brings its own take on Canadian après culture.

The G.O.A.T Club at Banff Sunshine

At Banff Sunshine, the Mad Trapper’s Saloon is a must. This rustic log cabin has been welcoming skiers since the 1920s and keeps the hill pumping. Warm up inside or grab a seat at the outdoor picnic tables. Order a Canadian classic Ceaser, and toast to the day’s best runs. If it’s chilly, their feature hot cocktails are the perfect way to linger a little longer.

On weekends, the energy kicks up a notch at Sunshine’s newest midday après spot, the G.O.A.T Club at the Goat’s Eye Gardens. Every Saturday and Sunday afternoon from 1-4pm, settle in for live DJ sets, feel-good tunes, and fresh cocktails at the full-service bar in the Goat’s Eye Lodge.

Over at Lake Louise Ski Resort, the après options leave you spoiled for choice. At the base, Powder Keg Lounge and Banded Peak Base Camp are go-to spots for sunny sips and easygoing hangouts with friends and family. Upstairs in the base lodge, Kuma Yama hosts Wild Life Happy Hour every Saturday from 3:30-6pm, perfect for winding down with cocktails and good conversation.

If you’ve ventured to the backside, Temple Lodge is well worth the stop. Share a cozy fondue with friends at Sawyer’s Nook in the upstairs Lodge or grab an ice-cold Corona from Temple Cantina on the Lodge Patio, ideal for soaking up those late-afternoon rays.

On weekends, keep an eye out for their Saturday Sessions. Held at the Polar Ice Palace at the base every Saturday from 1-4pm, live DJs will keep the après energy high. Then in March, spring skiing meets party vibes at the Temple Lodge Takeover every Saturday from 11am-3pm. Expect live DJs, sunshine and that unmistakable end of season stoke.

At Mt. Norquay, après is all about relaxed vibes and local flavour. The Lone Pine Pub in Cascade Lodge is the perfect place to kick back after a big day on the hill. Dig into hearty pub meals, sip on locally brewed favourites, and be sure to try the Mighty Quay 100 brew. Brewed by Banff Ave Brewing, this crisp, celebratory Kolsch was created especially for Norquay’s 100th year. Settle in, swap stories from the day, and take in the sweeping views of the Cascade run as the sun dips behind the mountains. It’s the kind of après that makes you appreciate slowing down and savouring the moment.

Whether you’re celebrating first tracks, a bluebird day, or simply conquering a run that had you a little nervous at the top, après at SkiBig3 is all about good energy, shared laughs and making memories with the people you came to the mountains with.
