The past two weeks have seen the releases of The Wise Man and The Character, and on October 12th the latest instalment of the series, The Artist, was released showcasing Sunshine Village Ski and Snowboard Resort.
Everybody has an inner artist inside them, whether it’s taking a photo with an iphone or making a line down the side of a mountain, it’s a creative expression.
In The Artist, the viewer meets local visual artist Dan Hudson as he ruminates on the very mountains that define his lifestyle and inspire his artistic expression. Filmed on location at Sunshine Village, we get a glimpse of the incredible energy of the Canadian Rockies and how the colour, light and texture of the mountains around the resort inspire skiers, snowboarders and artists alike. The film follows Dan as he shoots skiers and snowboarders on the mountain and then into his studio as nature becomes muse and inspiration flows both ways, translating to canvas.
Filmed by award winning Sherpas Cinema, the Sculpted in Time series is compiled of four short films that capture the deep spirit of skiing in Banff National Park’s three ski resorts of Mt. Norquay, the Lake Louise Ski Resort and Sunshine Village, as well as presenting a deep dive into backcountry skiing in the park.
The fourth and final film in the series, The Innovator, will be released on October 20th.
