The days are longer, the snow is softer, and spring is here! Along with it – spring events in Banff and Lake Louise are filling out the calendar for the next three months. MARCH EVENTS
March 29 – Rude Girls Nitro Ride Day
The last installment of Rude Girls Nitro Ride Days for the 2021/2022 season, this is your chance to shred with a killer female snowboarding community and meet the Banff Rude Girls. This event is open to those identifying as all-female and LGBTQ2+. It’s a safe and supportive space to meet other riders, practice tricks, win prizes, and just hang out with like-minded snowboard enthusiasts. Sign-up required. This event is open to ages 15 and up.

APRIL EVENTS
April 13-15: It Came From The Village
After the undeniable success of Snowboys Productions, Rise of the Village and Back in the Village, the Snowboys 25-year North American tour returns to Banff Sunshine this April with It Came From the Village. An invitation-only park event hosted by Snowboys Productions and SRD riders JJ & Finn Westbury. You can’t miss this chance to watch some of the best snowboarders and most impressive park builds on planet Earth. What can you expect? Cameras, stupid talent, epic tricks – do we need to say more? Filming will take place April 13-15 and when it’s over the features will be open to the public on April 16. Bring your camp chair, this is one you can’t miss.

April 17: Easter Egg Hunt
Ready, set, hunt! We just found out that the Easter Bunny will be hopping through Mt. Norquay Easter weekend and he’s bound to leave some treats behind. Hop into your snow pants and BYOB (bring your own basket) – this family-friendly event invites all ages to shuffle through the snow and find thousands (yes thousands) of surprises. To register for the hunt, meet outside Cascade Lodge at 10:00am sharp. We hop you make it!

April 25-29: Holy Bowly
Hosted all across North America, Holy Bowly embodies all that is well with snowboarding and delivers some freakin’ awesome footage. Back at Banff Sunshine, Holy Bowly features park builds as you’ve never seen before. Something like scooping out the mountain and then snowboarding on it. It’s wild, it’s fun, and it’s open to the public on April 30-May 1. Come watch the event April 25-29 or send it yourself (registration required).

MAY EVENTS
May 8: Mother’s Day
Forget flowers. Everyone knows Mom loves to shred. Treat the most special lady in your life to a day on the slopes. Phone-free, fresh-air, quality time with the kiddos. Both Banff Sunshine and Lake Louise Ski Resort will still be open (yup, we take spring skiing seriously in Alberta) so spend a day carving it up then cuddling on the patio with Mum.

May 8: Cardboard Box Downhill Derby
On the last day of the Lake Louise season, it’s time to get swap your skis for cardboard. Yes, you heard that right, on May 8 it’s your chance to slide down Lake Louise Ski Resorts’ famous slopes in the Cardboard Box Downhill Derby. Using only cardboard, string, tape, glue (and maybe some glitter) you and your team of 1-4 must try and build a cardboard creation to get you down in one piece. Themed outfits encouraged! May 23: Slush Cup
What a season it’s been! Send it off in spring style at Banff Sunshine’s famous slush cup. Bikinis, board shorts, and banana costumes are all welcome. If you’re feeling extra brave, sign up to send it off rails and rollers across the frozen pool of slush. Winners will be handsomely rewarded! It’s a fun, sunny, party vibe all day at slush cup, come on up and join the fun.
Insider tip: In its 94th (ish) year, Slush Cup is a super popular event. Registration opens at 8:00am in the Event Tent in the Village, but arrive early to get a spot (the line can start as early as 7:15am at the Gondola Base). The first jump will take place at noon.
