Skiing in November 2025: What Conditions Are Like Right Now in Banff National Park

If you are looking for some updated Banff ski conditions or planning a late November or early December ski trip to the Canadian Rockies, SkiBig3 is happy to report that the early season is already off to an excellent start! Consistent snowfall, cold temperatures, and additional terrain openings have created some of the best early winter conditions across all three SkiBig3 resorts. Banff Sunshine Village, Lake Louise Ski Resort and Mt. Norquay are all offering very strong early-season skiing with more lifts and runs opening every week.

As of November 27th, Lake Louise and Sunshine Village have the deepest snowpack and most skiable terrain of any resort in North America.

Here is your full SkiBig3 snow report as of November 26, 2025 and everything you can expect on the slopes right now.

Sunshine Village is moving into December with strong snowfall and impressive terrain access. The resort has received 32 centimetres (12.5 inches) of new snow in the past seven days, and a large portion of the mountain is now open for winter.

One of the biggest moments of the season arrived this week with the opening of The Great Divide chair. This high alpine zone is a Sunshine favourite and offers wide open terrain and some of the most scenic views in the Canadian Rockies.

At the moment, Sunshine has 10 of 12 lifts open along with 79 runs. Coverage continues to improve each day thanks to cold temperatures and steady snowfall. From upper mountain powder turns to smooth lower mountain cruising, Sunshine is offering excellent December skiing conditions.

Lake Louise: Major Snowfall Totals and 7 Lifts and 72 Runs Now Open

Lake Louise is leading the region in snowfall with an impressive 74 centimetres (almost 30 inches) of new snow in the last week. This early season storm has pushed the resort into a strong position for the season with deep coverage and expanding terrain openings across both the front side and the legendary back bowls.

Right now, Lake Louise has 7 lifts open and 72 runs available. This includes 10 freshly groomed favourites on the front side. In the back bowls, the Paradise Chair opened November 25 and is now providing access to Saddleback and Paradise Bowl.

The Top of the World Chairlift and Summit Chairlift are also open, bringing more upper mountain terrain into play and giving skiers sweeping views of Victoria Glacier and the surrounding peaks. Lake Louise also has two terrain parks open with early season features that are ideal for warming up for the winter ahead.

Mt. Norquay: Smooth Groomers and 2 Lifts Operating for late November

Mt. Norquay is delivering its classic early-season feel with smooth corduroy, sunny weather and an easy start to the ski day just minutes from the town of Banff. The mountain currently has 2 of 7 lifts operating, including Cascade Chair and the Sundance Carpet.

The Cascade Lodge, Snow School and rentals are fully open, making Norquay a great choice for families, lessons or anyone looking to ease into the season with well-maintained groomers. Cold nights are helping preserve excellent surface conditions and as snowfall continues through December, Norquay is expected to open more terrain.
