First Laps at Lake Louise

Guests arrived bright and early, with the Glacier Express starting up at 9:00 am to transport skiers and snowboarders to the upper mountain, granting access to Bald Eagle, Wiwaxy and portions of Easy Street. Early season visitors enjoyed a variety of beginner and intermediate runs, perfect for getting back into the rhythm of skiing. The stunning views surrounding the valley added to the excitement, offering a picturesque backdrop as guests enjoyed their first turns of the season.

As they explored the mountain, there was something for every skill level, from gentle slopes ideal for families and beginners to more challenging blue runs that provided a touch of early season adrenaline. The lower Easy Street terrain park was set up with early season features, making it an exciting spot for those looking to enjoy some fun features. A portion of the Learning Area was also open, ensuring that newcomers had the perfect space to get comfortable on their skis or snowboard. Thanks to recent grooming, these trails were smooth and ready, ensuring a great surface to ease back into the season.

After a few exhilarating runs, many took a break at Lake Louise’s Lodge of Ten Peaks for a warm and inviting après experience. Hot drinks available at Slopeside Coffee, while the Lodge of Ten Peaks Cafeteria and Bier Stube offer hearty classics like burgers, sandwiches, and a variety of snacks to refuel. For a more relaxed vibe, the Powder Keg provides the perfect spot to unwind and reconnect with friends while celebrating the start of another great winter season.

This heated 6-pack chair, outfitted with blue weather protection bubbles, will give intermediate and advanced skiers easier access to some of the most thrilling in bounds terrain. With this exciting addition, Lake Louise is set to offer an even more memorable experience throughout the winter season.

Why Skiing in Banff National Park Feels Different

Skiing rarely happens in a place this protected, expansive, and deeply connected to nature. In Banff, three world-class ski resorts operate entirely within a preserved Canadian National Park, the oldest park in Canada, creating an experience that feels both elevated and refreshingly grounded.
