Getting ready for your Ski trip to SkiBig3? Here’s what you need to know

There is no doubt that your trip to SkiBig3 is going to be amazing! Skiing and boarding at some of the world's most spectacular mountains is something most people only dream of. To make the most of your time on the slopes and ensure a smooth arrival and time in destination, here’s everything you need to know before you go!

Organize your transport from the airport to town

Getting around is easy. Frequent airport shuttle services are available between Calgary International Airport and Banff & Lake Louise hotels. You can book this easily with your online package or directly through our reservations team. Once here, ski shuttle transportation is included with your SkiBig3 Lift Ticket.

Alternatively, you can get a rental car from Calgary International Airport and drive 90 minutes directly into town, giving you the flexibility to explore on your own terms. Enjoy free parking located throughout Banff & Lake Louise but remember to purchase your Park Pass

Purchase your lift tickets in advance

Purchasing a SkiBig3 Lift Ticket is the best way to experience three of Banff's iconic resorts: Banff Sunshine, Lake Louise Ski Resort and Mt. Norquay. For your convenience, your lift ticket also gives you access to FREE ski shuttles to and from each resort and the town of Banff.

If you purchase your SkiBig3 lift tickets more than 72 hours prior to your arrival, our delivery team can bring your ticket to the front desk of your hotel; ready for you to pick up when you arrive. Just simply select the hotel you plan to arrive to; or call up and let one of our Vacation Specialists know.

Rent your ski or snowboard gear for easier travel

To save on excessive oversized luggage fees, we suggest renting your skis or snowboards. The SkiBig3 Adventure Hubs, located in Banff and Canmore, offers a wide range of quality skis and boards, for all ages, conditions, and ability levels. The good news is, if you’re using rentals, you can be sure that your board will be waxed and tuned; ready for you to shred out on the mountain.

As a bonus for renting with SkiBig3, we’ll have your gear waiting for you at either hub, and once you’re all fitted, we’ll deliver your gear straight to your hotel.

Select the location most convenient for you! If you are renting a car, or staying in Canmore, visit our Canmore hub conveniently located just off the highway on route to Banff. Grab all your vacation needs in one easy stop including groceries, a liquor store, coffee shops and local brewery.

Exchange your currency

If you're visiting from outside Canada, change some money at your nearest currency exchange store or bank in your home city, so you'll have some cash upon arrival. Once you get here, there are many currency exchange facilities and banks available at Calgary International Airport and throughout the towns of Banff & Lake Louise.

If you are a traveler form the U.S, you can make the most of your money by travelling to Canada. Currently the U.S exchange rate is stronger than we have seen in a while, with $1 USD converting to $1.40 CAD (as of November 2024). This means you’re not only saving on Lift tickets; but accommodation, food, activities and more!
