SkiBig3 Tubing: Get Your Tube On!

Travel to Canada - What to Expect

SkiBig3 Tubing: Get Your Tube On!

If Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory were Banff National Park, the Golden Ticket would be your SkiBig3 Lift Ticket. It gives you access to all three ski resorts in Banff National Park, discounts at the best local eats, treats and activities, and your SkiBig3 Lift Ticket includes complimentary tubing at Mt. Norquay – home to the largest tube park in the Canadian Rockies!

A SkiBig3 tubing experience is also available at the Lake Louise Ski Resort. However this tubing is not associated with a SkiBig3 Lift Ticket.

Here’s what you need to know to make the most of this spinny, snowy experience.

Tubing Discounts

Tubing is free for SkiBig3 Lift Ticket Holders at Mt. Norquay day and night. If you have scanned at one of the three resorts – Banff Sunshine, Lake Louise Ski Resort, or Mt. Norquay – we recommend you visit Mt. Norquay and try tubing as a fun way to break up the day or an adventure after dark.

When you scan your SkiBig3 Lift Ticket for tubing, it counts as one of your lift ticket days, so we recommend pairing tubing with skiing or snowboarding for the best value.

NIGHT TUBING

The fun keeps kicking on at Mt. Norquay, even after dark! After a day on the slopes, bring your SkiBig3 Lift Ticket and tube at night for free. If you skied or snowboarded at any SkiBig3 resort that day, your SkiBig3 Lift Ticket can get you free night tubing.

Night tubing takes place on Friday and Saturday nights, the same time as night skiing at Mt. Norquay. Stay tuned to Mt. Norquay’s hours of operations for bonus night tubing sessions added during Christmas and spring break.

Newby-friendly

First off – no experience is necessary to go tubing. Whether you’re a kid or a kid-at-heart, this is a thrilling activity for visitors of all ages. Little ones do have to be over 42 inches (107cm) tall to ride and must be accompanied by an adult.

Mt. Norquay builds up to 8 tubing lanes every winter.

What to wear

Avoid potential tube deflation or a painful collision – you must wear warm winter boots, no ski or snowboard boots. Winter pants, jackets, and mitts just like you would wear to ski/snowboard are also great for tubing. Googles are also recommended to keep the snow spray out of your eyes. Sunglasses have been known to fly off (especially if you’re spinning super fast) so we recommend leaving them at the base.

The straw at the bottom of Mt. Norquay’s tubing lanes is a safety precaution – it slows you down at the end of your ride.

Tube Etiquette

SkiBig3 tubing is a popular activity, and it can get busy at times. When there are more people than tubes, be kind and hop off the tubing lane as quickly as you can. This keeps things moving and gets you to your turn as quickly as possible.

WHEN TO GO

Tubing at Mt. Norquay is a popular activity and has a limited capacity. If you plan on tubing on the weekend or around peak season times (such as Christmas Holidays or Family Week) we recommend that you arrive early as tubing is not guaranteed if the tube park is at capacity. For the most up-to-date tubing times, check the tubing hours of operations on Mt. Norquay’s website.
