Everything You Need to Know About Red Bull Jump & Freeze at Banff Sunshine
Red Bull’s Jump & Freeze is landing at Banff Sunshine on April 25, 2026! If you’ve seen the hype but aren’t quite sure what it’s all about (or how to be part of it), you’re in the right place. This is your go-to guide for everything you need to know about Red Bull Jump & Freeze at Banff Sunshine.
What is it?
Red Bull Jump & Freeze is a high-energy winter showdown where teams of 2–4 send it across an icy pond, dressed in over-the-top costumes and strapped into self-crafted vehicles, all for the chance of pond-skimming glory. It’s part pond skim, part costume contest. Teams are judged on creativity, performance, and jump difficulty, so expect everything from smooth landings to full-on splashdowns. Think a winter-fied version of Red Bull’s Flugtag and Soap Box competitions.
This year marks the Canadian debut of Red Bull Jump & Freeze, with past events lighting up slopes in countries like Japan, Slovakia, and Kazakhstan. Now, it’s Banff Sunshine’s turn to bring the stoke.
For competitors, it’s a shot at glory, bragging rights, and a stack of prizes. For spectators, it’s an afternoon packed with big sends, cold plunges, and Sunshine’s signature spring skiing energy.
Who can compete
Registration is now closed, and the final lineup has been locked in, so get ready to cheer on 30 hand-picked teams bringing their best ideas to life.
Each team consists of 2–4 riders, all 18+, who earned their spot by submitting detailed concepts for their costumes and custom builds. Only the most creative and ambitious entries made the cut, so expect innovative contraptions and entertaining costumes.
