Winter has arrived early here in Banff National Park! With two of the SkiBig3 resorts already opening on November 1st and Banff Sunshine Village opening on November 8th, this makes them three of the earliest resorts in the Canadian Rockies to open for the season.
Banff Sunshine Village

Banff Sunshine Village is all set to open for November 8th! Friday brings the first Sunshine gondola rides of the season, giving access to Strawberry Express and two magic carpets, and a small rail park on Strawberry. Please ride with care and anticipate early season conditions while we wait for Mother Nature to grace us with more snow! Go for a lap to warm up the ski legs, then get together with your riding buds for lunch to celebrate the start to the season.
All restaurants will be open in the Sunshine Mountain Lodge, plus Trappers, Lookout, and the Alpine Grill. The Chimney Corner will open for lunch and dinner on Friday. Breakfast service in The Chimney Corner will start on Saturday. Eagles Nest will be open for dinner starting Friday, and both Creekside restaurants will be open first thing in the morning.
Regular bus shuttle schedules will be in effect.
Lake Louise Ski Resort

Lake Louise Ski Resort opened a week earlier than their initial anticipated opening date of November 8th, making it one of their earliest opening dates ever. Come out to enjoy fresh snow, fresh air and take part in the start of another great season.
Glacier Express Chair opened first, providing access to three runs – Wiwaxy, Bald Eagle and Easy Street. The Learning Area is also open with one Sunny Carpet lift for beginner skiers and snowboarders. The gondola will be running as of Thursday, November 6th!
Need to fuel up for your first week on the slopes? The Lodge of Ten Peaks Cafeteria and Slopeside Coffee are already open, with Powder Keg lounge opening Thursday, and Kuma Yama opening Wednesday.
Mt. Norquay

Mt. Norquay opened right on time with their initial anticipated opening date of November 1st!
Cascade Chair started spinning for the first groomers of the season down Cascade run, ane some terrain park features were even available as of opening day!
After a few laps, head in to the Lone Pine Lodge to stock up on lunch, snacks, and hot cocoa to enjoy by the fireplace. The lodge cafeteria is open, and the Lone Pine pub is anticipated to open soon. Their rental building and services will also be open.
