Community Ski Days Are Back Dec 9-11

This December, Banff Sunshine, Lake Louise Ski Resort and Mt. Norquay together with SkiBig3, are pleased to announce the return of Community Ski Days. Happening December 9-11, all proceeds raised through Community Ski Days will be donated back to local organizations across the Bow Valley.

Deeply discounted lift ticket rate

Community Ski Days will take place over three days (Banff Sunshine on Friday, Dec. 9, Mt. Norquay on Saturday, Dec. 10, and Lake Louise Ski Resort on Sunday, Dec. 11) and offers Bow Valley locals the opportunity to experience skiing and snowboarding at each resort for a deeply reduced lift-ticket rate.

The intention for Community Ski Days is to encourage locals and new residents just arriving for the winter season, to experience one, two or three of the resorts, while also giving back to the surrounding community. Additionally, for residents, newcomers, and families who live, work and play in the Bow Valley every day, reduced lift ticket rates during Community Ski Days make skiing and snowboarding much more accessible.

“Community Ski Days is a way for us and the three resorts to invite all members of our local community to experience skiing and snowboarding," says Pete Woods, President of SkiBig3. “As an international ski destination, Banff and Lake Louise would not be the same without the people that make up its community, share these magnificent mountains with visitors from around the world, and ultimately bring this place to life.”

Bring photo ID or proof of employment

During Community Ski Days, full-day lift ticket prices will be discounted to $50 (Adult), $30 (Youth), $30 (Senior), and $15 (Child). To purchase a lift ticket at this locals-only price, Bow Valley residents must bring their photo ID, with a valid local address (or proof of local employment) on a Community Ski Day to the Guest Service Desk at Banff Sunshine, Lake Louise Ski Resort, or Mt. Norquay. Community Ski Days are open to all residents in the communities of Morley, Lac des Arc, Dead Man's Flats, Exshaw, Canmore, Harvie Heights, Banff, Lake Louise, Field and Kananaskis.

Community Ski Days proceeds go back to the community

All proceeds raised by Community Ski Days will be donated to various local organizations. Proceeds from Banff Sunshine will be split between Rocky Mountain Adaptive and the Banff Mineral Springs Hospital, Mt. Norquay will be supporting the Bow Valley Food Bank, and Lake Louise Ski Resort will be donating the funds they raise to the Canadian Rockies Public Schools.

With fresh powder on the slopes, new terrain opening, and a growing snow base, SkiBig3, and the teams at Banff Sunshine, Lake Louise Ski Resort and Mt. Norquay look forward to welcoming the Bow Valley to Community Ski Days, December 9-11, 2022.
