“Skiers and snowboarders, be prepared to change your plans.” That’s your warning from us here in Banff-Lake Louise for those planning on hitting the slopes across North America.
Banff Lake Louise Tourism is targeting skiers and snowboarders across Canada and the United States, ‘skijacking’ them and stealing them away to experience the ultimate ski and snowboard vacation in Canada’s protected playground, Banff National Park.
“You might be planning on shredding powder at your local ski resort and we’ll haul you out of there and send you to where ‘Nature Rules’ in Banff and Lake Louise,” says Jeff Mitchell from Banff Lake Louise Tourism. “Everyone and anyone with a board or two skis strapped to their feet is fair game.”
Lucky targets will be flown to Calgary to begin a weekend odyssey of skiing and snowboarding courtesy of a free tri-area pass from Ski Banff-Lake Louise-Sunshine for access to the three resorts; Mount Norquay, the Lake Louise Ski Resort, and Sunshine Village, as well as at The Fairmont Banff Springs with Willow Stream Spa access, plus free entry to local nightclubs and climbing on the town of Banff’s goliath 40-foot ice wall.
The first targets will be identified in the coming weeks and brought to Banff-Lake Louise to partake in the annual SnowDays festivities. Subsequent targets will be identified throughout the winter by their use of #skijack on social media and approached without warning to be whisked away to Banff National Park.
Skiers and boarders, you’ve been warned.
