Here in Banff National Park, skiers and snowboarders have been hitting the Canadian Rockies powder for more than three months already. Sunshine Village opened the 2016/17 ski season on November 3rd with its earliest start date in almost 30 years, making mid-February the halfway mark of the season.
With more than 15 feet of cumulative snowfall to date in the region, and another four months of great skiing and riding still to come, we anticipate many more powder turns and great photo ops in our future.
To celebrate mid-season, here’s a look back at 40 of our favourite Instagram-worthy moments so far this season at Mt Norquay, Lake Louise Ski Resort, Sunshine Village and wider Banff National Park.
In case you missed it, this happened yesterday. This was mid-mountain at lunch time.
