A Guide to Banff’s Best Coffee Spots

What better way to start your morning, than enjoying a coffee and a baked good, whilst enjoying a stunning view of Cascade, Tunnel or Rundle Mountain.

Here in Banff, we have no shortage of unique coffee shops that all have their take on what a café in Banff National Park should look like. Most of these cafes have incorporated a reusable cup program calls “Banff Borrows”. The program aims to reduce single use waste by opting in to borrow a reusable cup and return it at a later date.

Whitebark

When it comes to finding the best coffee in Banff, one of the local favourites is Whitebark. Located inside the Aspen Lodge, Whitebark has become well known for their coffees and homemade baked goods. Mountain Folk Coffee Co.

Recently opened in 2024, Mountain Folk Coffee Co. is an Australian inspired coffee shop, with unique specialty beverages and healthy and delicious food options. Located on the bustling Banff Ave, you can enjoy a hot cup of coffee while watching as tourists pass by.

Mountain Folk Coffee Co. is one of a few healthier choice cafes and aims to push the convenience of their grab and go items.

 

 

Downtown Sally

Downtown Sally is the sister store to Sudden Sally, located in Hotel Canoe & Suites. It is centrally located on Bear Street in the heart of Banff. Just steps from the bustling main street, it offers quality artisan coffee, cold-pressed juice, fresh salads, wraps, sandwiches, and a selection of baked goods and pastries. Wild Flour

Wild Flour is easily one of the most popular coffee shops in Banff. Wild Flour has 2 locations, their flagship store in on Bear Street, with a corner shop version of Banff Ave. Wild Flour’s Near Street location is the perfect place to enjoy a coffee, freshly prepared sandwich, pastry, baked treat and enjoy the atmosphere of a bustling café. With gluten-free, dairy-free, and vegan options available, every adventurer will find something they like.
