8 Pet-Friendly Hotels in Banff and Lake Louise

Let's face it, vacations aren't the same unless the whole family is there, and that means bringing the pets along for the fun! Banff and Lake Louise are home to some great pet-friendly hotels, so you don't have to worry about who is looking after your favourite child while you're away.

In Banff

Caribou Lodge

One of Banff's most loved hotels, Caribou Lodge is close to the heart of the action. Not only can you relax in their indoor hot pools after a day of activities, but Caribou Lodge is also home to the Red Earth Spa. Red Earth Spa is a full-service spa with six treatment rooms, including one dedicated to hydrotherapy. Caribou guests can also take advantage of complimentary Banff ROAM passes.

Caribou Lodge wants your pets to be as comfortable as you and will provide a pet bed, water and food dishes, treats and even a special toy to take home! Their in-hotel restaurant has a dog-friendly patio so you can eat dinner together.

Elk + Avenue

Located in the core of Banff, the Elk + Avenue Hotel is close to all your dining and shopping needs. You can look forward to classic mountain accommodation with a contemporary twist while you relax, reminisce, rest and recharge. Their in-hotel restaurant, Farm & Fire, has delicious wood-fired fare and a fantastic weekend brunch lineup.

Elk + Avenue welcomes your pet with a comfy pet bed, food bowls, treats and a special dog bag.

Fairmont Banff Springs

As one of Banff's most photographed and well-recognized landmarks, the historical Fairmont Banff Springs offers something for the whole family. The Fairmont Banff Springs is home to a scenic golf course, a relaxing spa, fitness centre, bowling lanes, and so much more. Their in-hotel dining options are considered some of the best in Alberta. Whether you're a history buff looking to stay in Banff's 130-year old castle or on your honeymoon, the Fairmont Banff Springs has what you need.

The Fairmont Banff Springs allows your pet to join you on their pet-friendly patios and even offers pet-sitting services for guests looking to spend a night away from the furkid.

Moose Hotel & Suites

As one of Banff's newest hotels, the Moose Hotel & Suites is quickly becoming a popular favourite among visitors! Just one minute from downtown Banff, this warm, rich, and naturally designed space is one you won't forget. Their in-hotel restaurant Pacini Italian Restaurant is well-known in town for its pasta, and locals love to book a suite to enjoy a staycation.

Treat your pet to a stay at the Moose Hotel & Suites with a complimentary cozy pet bed, treats, food and water dishes and a fun, souvenir take-home toy to remember the trip.

Hidden Ridge Resort

Tucked away from busy downtown Banff, Hidden Ridge Resort offers condo-style properties that give everyone some space to relax and play. Their condos provide the comforts of home, such as full kitchens, while allowing you to be on vacation. Their outdoor hot pools and wading pool are great for the kids, and you can relax in the sauna or enjoy the 360 views.

Your pet can look forward to a little more room than the traditional hotel room when you stay at Hidden Ridge. You will also be supplied with a pet bed, bowls, treats and a toy to commemorate the trip.

Tunnel Mountain Resort

With a variety of accommodation options, ranging from condos to cabins, Tunnel Mountain Resort is another option perfect for families or those looking for some privacy. The resort also has an indoor pool, fitness room and sauna and steam rooms. If you don't feel like driving into town, they also provide guests with complimentary Banff ROAM bus passes that will take you around town.

Your pets can expect to have a large pet bed, food bowl and a complimentary dog toy waiting for them in your room upon arrival.

Lake Louise Inn

The Lake Louise Inn is a resort for all seasons. The Inn offers comfort and convenience with modern amenities in a rustic setting with beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. With a number of dining options, ski shuttles, complimentary activities and easy access to the Lake Louise shoreside, this is one of the best places to call home base.

Unfortunately, this is a dogs-only place — sorry cat lovers!

Baker Creek Mountain Resort

Just minutes from Lake Louise, the Baker Creek Mountain Resort is an intimate, casual mountain resort that offers an authentic Canadian Rockies experience. You can choose a cozy cabin or suite to call home during your vacation and enjoy locally and regionally sourced cuisine at the Baker Creek Bistro.

Pet safety tips

  • To keep Banff National Park wild and protect our natural spaces, all dogs are to be kept on a leash unless otherwise specified. Banff has an off-leash dog park just off of Hawk Ave.
  • Remember to pick up and dispose of your dog's waste responsibly!
  • Do not leave pet food, or treats, out for wildlife to eat.

Ready for a scenic adventure with your pet?

In order to avoid disappointment, be sure to confirm the pet-friendliness of your hotel before making a reservation. Hotels may also have different policies on the number of pets permitted in each room, the type of pets allowed, and the number of pet-friendly rooms available. Call our Reservations Team at 1-844-754-2443, and we would be happy to confirm your dog-friendly accommodation.
