Banff’s Must-Try New Restaurants

Over the past year, a wave of fresh openings has brought bold, fresh flavours and exciting energy to this mountain town. From alpine Italian and wood-fired pizza to Korean desserts and Japanese street snacks, these are the places you need to add to your Banff dining bucket list.

Good Folk

Inside the Otter Hotel, Good Folk delivers a refined take on Canadian cuisine. Be sure to try the Rose Gold Martini or The Last of Us inspired rum cocktail! Seasonal dishes like Thai curry mussels and burrata with charred cauliflower shine in a cozy, intimate setting that is perfect for date night. Plus, easy, free covered parking is available for restaurant guests!

Pizzeria Sophia

The aroma of the wood-fired oven will draw you in. Pizzeria Sophia serves creative pizzas, fresh pastas, and antipasti. The happy hour with half-price pizzas and select drinks is a local favourite. Try one of their signature Torpedo sandwiches made with their famous pizza crust.

Banff Social Fresh Kitchen& Lounge

Light-filled and lively, Banff Social offers globally inspired plates with a local twist. Plant-forward dishes, creative shareables, and craft cocktails make it ideal for brunch or a relaxed dinner. Check out the flower-filled patio overlooking Bear Street with mountain views!

The Fat Ox

Hearty alpine Italian favourites like bison bolognese, tagliatelle and handmade pastas make The Fat Ox a go-to for comfort food. Warm lighting and mountain charm seal the deal. Plus, stop by during Aperitivo for $5 shafts during this happy hour!

Sudden Sally

Located at Hotel Canoe & Suites, Sudden Sally puts a fresh spin on comfort food. Smash burgers, golden onion rings, and hearty brunch plates make it a reliable choice any time of day. Enjoy views of the mountains from their large outdoor patio.

Yama Onigiri

This grab-and-go spot brings Japanese rice balls to Banff. Try fillings like salmon and seaweed or spicy tuna before a hike, after skiing, or as a quick snack in town. Look out for their rice ball vending machine for a truly Japanese experience.

Hankki Dessert

Bright, playful, and sweet, Hankki Dessert serves Korean bingsoo piled high with fruit, syrup, and creamy toppings.

Banff’s newest restaurants prove the town is just as exciting for food lovers as it is for outdoor adventurers. Save these spots, book your trip, and come hungry!
