Job Description

Reporting to the Director of Marketing, the primary function of this position is to build and implement a comprehensive content and social media strategy for the coming winter season. The Marketing and Communications manager will oversee all written elements of SkiBig3 content from both a destination awareness and sales perspective, and will oversee timely and strategic distribution of all content pieces across relevant channels (e-newsletters, blogs, social channels). This role will also oversee all media activities including building out a winter destination media strategy, planning and hosting destination media and Tour & Travel FAM visits.

Job Responsibilities

Communications: Content Development & Distribution

  • Development of the annual content calendar to support all winter, summer and season pass campaigns.
  • Work with the Director of Marketing to establish key communication and sales messages for internal and external audiences.
  • Oversee the development of a CRM email schedule, writing  and ensuring timing delivery of e-newsletters to various audience lists as per the content calendar.
  • Oversee the creation and distribution of blog articles as per the content calendar.
  • Work with the Director of Marketing to establish a Social Media Strategy that encompasses the needs outlined in the overall content calendar – organic and paid.
  • Oversee the seasonal Marketing/Social Media Coordinator.

Ski/Travel Media & FAMs

  • Build media strategy in conjunction with the Director of Marketing and partner agencies.
  • Establish key messages  and media pitches for winter/summer/community needs in conjunction with SkiBig3 management, resort partners and local community partners.
  • Work with the SkiBig3 Marketing & Sales Teams, destination partners & resort teams to oversee media and Travel Trade FAM visits
  • Host and support media guests while in destination (evenings & weekends may be required)

Community Initiatives / Marketing

  • Oversee community activations and initiatives.
  •  Work with Sales team to coordinate sales & marketing collateral needs
  • Coordinate and assist with SWAG purchases, collateral, signage and display needs for marketing team 

Job Requirements/Qualifications

This position requires a Marketing and Communications professional that is willing to jump into a small team and take on a wide-variety of roles. The ideal candidate should encompass a positive outlook, passion for mountain sports and a proven ability to quickly adapt to changing circumstances.

  • Media and public relations experience required with a specialization in written communications
  • Strong understanding of marketing strategy 
  • Strong understanding of social media paid and organic strategies
  • Experience in organizing events, fam itineraries or other similar activities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience working in cloud based digital platforms such as WordPress, Elementor,  Acoustic, Hubspot or MailChimp.
  • Bachelor degree in marketing or communications
  • Min. 3 years of related experience in tourism sector
