Sunshine: Bobbie Burns Day

January 25

Banff Sunshine: Bobbie Burns Day

Join us as we celebrate and honour the life and poetry of the Scottish poet and lyricist Robert Burns! For us at Banff Sunshine, Robbie Burns Day is the perfect excuse to wear a kilt, listen to the traditional melody of bagpipes, and enjoy a Scottish meal.

On January 25th, 2024, join us on the slopes with your knees out. Guests that are wearing a kilt, can purchase a lift and ski or ride for only $82.50+GST!

Tickets are available all day at Ticket Windows, or Guest Services.

To celebrate the poet’s legacy, there will be a bagpiper performing on the mountain! Stop by the village to watch, and listen to the chanter of a traditional melody.

All proceeds from, “Robbie Burns Day,” will go to the Rod Chisholm Memorial Fund. This fund has been established to support glioblastoma research, at the University of Calgary’s Cumming School of Medicine.

Rod Chisholm originally joined the Banff Sunshine team back in 1985. He dedicated 36 hardworking years to the Sunshine Village family. Rod was diagnosed with glioblastoma, an agressive form of brain cancer, and passed away shortly after his diagnosis, in 2021. He was an integral part of our team, and is dearly missed. In his honor, friends and family established the Rod Chisholm Memorial fund, to support glioblastoma research at the University of Calgary.
