If you don’t have plans for Friday, it’s time to pick up your ticket for The Big Bear. Head down to The Ski Hub at 119 Bear Street before noon on February 6th to pick up a ticket.
Starting at 6:00pm on February 6th, The Big Bear is where street party and terrain park collide for an adrenaline-inducing competition. For 3 hours, pros will stomp out tricks on a custom designed park of ramps and rails that takes over Bear Street.
A soundtrack will be provided by Red Bull Djs as well as some local talent. Headlining is DJ Adam Doubleyou. With more than 10 years behind the turntables, Adam isn’t new to Banff! While he currently lives in Quebec City, he did provide tunes for Outtabounds, now Hoodoos, back in 2002. He also won the Canadian Thre3style title in 2013 in front of a packed house at Cowboy’s in Calgary and went on to compete in the world finals in Toronto. DJ Fatmufin will also man the decks.
Food and beverage vendors, including a Molson Beer Garden, will also be setting up shop on the block, so the $10 ticket gets you access to everything you need for a great night out as well as entrance into the official after-party at the Aurora Nightclub (as long as you arrive before 11pm).
Kids under 12 accompanied by an adult gain entrance to the competition/street party free.
The fun continues through the weekend with various events at the three ski resorts (Sunshine Village, Mount Norquay and the Lake Louise Ski Resort) so hold on to your ticket for discounts and access to more fun! For details on more weekend events click here.
*Important note on Street Closures*
To make space for the epic party and Bear Street terrain park, the 200 block parking lot on Bear Street will be closed from February 4th to 7th.
On February 6th, Bear Street adjacent to the side will be closed to vehicular traffic from 3pm until 11pm.
