The Storm of the Season: Powder Day Photos from Banff National Park

The SkiBig3 resorts took ‘New Year, New Me’ to a new level this year, as they kicked off 2019 with the biggest powder days of the season so far. Mt. Norquay saw up to 30cms in 24 hours by January 4th and Banff Sunshine Village saw 28cms that same day. Lake Louise Ski Resort saw up to 77cms in the back bowls, with a 7-day total accumulating to 109cms by the end of the week.

The snowstorm was capped with a bluebird day on Saturday, providing the stoke trifecta of deep powder, sunny skies, and untouched turns. Boomerang was blanketed in flawless snow by Saturday, gifting immaculate lines to skiers and snowboarders who timed the gate drop just right. At Banff Sunshine Village, the fresh snow opened up even more runs and terrain, with 121 out of 138 runs now open.

The best part? There’s still a whole lot of winter left here in Banff National Park, with plenty of pow days to come. Until then, relive the glory through these powder day photos – straight from the slopes of SkiBig3!
