Hop to it: Easter fun in Banff & Lake Louise

Not sure what to do this Easter break?

With record breaking snow conditions, milder temperatures, and hidden treats, it’s the ideal time to get outside and enjoy spring skiing in Banff National Park – and a little chocolate!

Here are some fun local activities to make this Easter long weekend a memorable one.

Mt Norquay

Easter egg hunt: Sunday April 16

If your kids love snow and chocolate, they’ll love hunting for hidden chocolate treasures left by the Easter Bunny. Head to Mt Norquay for a very popular egg hunt (10am-1pm) on Easter Sunday, free for all kids and families.

7th Annual S-Games: Sunday April 16

Whether you’re up to the challenge of competing, or just want to watch from the sidelines, this snowboard shred contest is not to be missed. Watch local talent compete in a rail-jam-style event for the best trick, best method, and take a high ollie challenge, skate race, and penguin waddle race. Register on site from 10am. Comp starts at high noon and runs until as late as we can shred! Awards to follow at the lodge.

Banff Sunshine Village

Easter treasure hunt: Saturday, April 15

Kids under 12 years old are invited to take part in a special Easter treasure hunt. Help find the lost Easter eggs to redeem a prize at the General Office. Follow along on social media (Facebook and Instagram) on the day to get some clues.

Easter church service and egg hunt: Sunday, April 16

Head to the top of Strawberry for a non-denominational church service at 11:00AM. The Easter Bunny will help the kids collect chocolate Easter eggs hidden all around the mountains immediately following the church service.

Spring Concert Series: Saturday April 15-Sunday April 16

Check out Tim Hus live on the PEPSI stage from 2:30PM to 4:30PM for some authentic Canadiana. Hus was nominated for “Folk/Roots” artist of the year at the Canadian Music Awards and “Songwriter of the Year” at the Folk Music Awards. Whether you come for the skiing or the band, you’re sure to have a smile on your face as you catch some rays from the top of the Rockies.

The Lake Louise Ski Resort

Easter Bunny visits: Friday April 14, Saturday April 15, Sunday April 16 (11am– 2pm daily)

Keep an eye out for the Easter Bunny and Griff the Grizzly as they make their way around the lodge and base area handing out Easter eggs. For a fun memento of your slope-side Easter adventure, be sure to take some happy snaps along the way.

Spring Music Series: Saturday April 15-Sunday April 16

Head to the Kokanee Kabin to listen to some live music, go to the backside to Temple BBQ, or hit your favourite runs during the amazing spring conditions. On Easter weekend, alternative folk rock quartet from Canmore and Banff, Elk Run & Riot, will hit the stage with their catchy harmonies about life in the Bow Valley.
