88th Annual Sunshine Village Slush Cup & Inaugural Pond Skimming World Cup

For 88 years, generations of skiers have flocked to the slopes of Sunshine Village for the May long weekend to celebrate the conclusion of another ski season in Banff National Park.

Many come to make their final turns in some balmy temps, but a select few will take it to the next level.

The event has deep roots as a Sunshine Village tradition, but 2016 marks a new era of the event – The inaugural Pond Skimming World Cup presented by Powder Magazine.

With three regional qualifiers already in the books, the Pond Skimming World Cup at Slush Cup will bring together the best skimmers in the business from Crested Butte, CO, Big Sky, MT, Stevens Pass, WA and Squaw Valley, CA for their chance at slushy glory.

You can register for Slush Cup in-person on Monday, May 23rd @ 8:30am outside of the Ski School Office at Sunshine Village. Space is limited so get there early! (First-come, first-served.)

Slush Cup is also a spectator sport! If you’re keen to have a patio day, just purchase your gondola ticket and join in the weekend-long mountain-top party!
