Lake Louise Gondola

Lake Louise Gondola

Lake Louise Gondola is known for its amazing grizzly bear viewing and stunning scenary. Cruise for 14 minutes in an open chair or a fully enclosed gondola to 2088m (6850ft), where the spectacular scenery is yours to explore at will. For the hardy, there are ambitious hikes to the summit of Mt. Whitehorn. Equally lovely short, leisurely strolls are available for those with more modest exercise goals.

This is one of the best places to see wild grizzly bears in their natural environment. With almost daily sightings, many guests are treated to this rare and awesome spectacle of nature.

Whatever your fitness level, Lake Louise will quickly capture your heart. Be sure to bring your camera to save your own special memories of soaring peaks, stunning glaciers, lush carpets of alpine wildflowers fed by clear springs and, often, delightful glimpses of wildlife surrounded by the unspoiled beauty of summer.

Lake Louise Gondola is open seven-days-a-week from May 17 to September 29, 2013. Visit the Banff Ski Hub for prices and bookings.

Owners of the 2012/2013 Big3 Season Pass get FREE access to the Lake Louise Gondola all summer!

Sunshine Meadows

Sunshine Meadows

Sunshine Meadows is one of the most stunning alpine setting in the Canadian Rockies. Situated at an average elevation of 2220m (7300ft), the Meadows straddle the Continental Divide and the boundary between Alberta and British Columbia.

Surrounded by some of the Rockies’ highest peaks, including Mt. Assiniboine, the unobstructed views are spectacular. Wildlife abound in the Meadows, and the brilliance of the summer flowers and autumn larches guarantee spectacular scenery on every visit.

A network of gentle trails wind their way through the Meadows and offer a range of walking for all abilities; from easy one and two hour strolls, to challenging full-day hikes to Quartz Ridge, Healy Pass, or beyond. You can choose to hike on your own or join one of the full-day guided hikes. Many of the trails are considered easy and can be walked by anyone of any age, in reasonable physical condition.

Sunshine Meadows is open seven-days-a-week from June 21 to October 6, 2013. Visit the Banff Ski Hub for prices and bookings.
