VERTICAL EXPRESS FOR MS COMING TO SUNSHINE VILLAGE
Event Raised $48,000 Last Year for Multiple Sclerosis Research

The 2008 Vertical Express for Multiple Sclerosis (MS) hits the slopes of Sunshine Village on February 9th, 2008 challenging skiers and riders of all ages and abilities.

Proceeds from the event will benefit The Heuga Center for Multiple Sclerosis, a leading international non-profit organization helping people and families living with MS through innovative programs and services as well as programs of the Canadian Association for Disabled Skiing (CADS).

Teams of three skiers/riders raise a minimum of $1,000 to enter the Vertical Express for MS.  The day’s activities include on-snow events, exciting prizes, complimentary lift tickets, food and goodie bags.  Teams that raise $20,000 or more win a free trip to Vail, Colorado, to attend the April Awards celebration, April 11-13, 2008. Those who can’t attend are invited to participate on-line by supporting another team. Register for the Vertical Express for MS at www.snowexpress.org.

Proceeds from the event allow Canadians with MS to live full, productive lives by supporting The Heuga Center’s one-, three- and five-day programs that teach people with this incurable, neurological disease how to manage it to the best of their ability.

Canada has one of the highest rates of MS in the world at 50,000 sufferers.  There is no known cure or cause and is the most common neurological disease among young adults.  It affects more women than men between the ages of 20 and 50.
