The Lake Louise Sightseeing Lift and Gondola and Interpretive Centre offers a unique opportunity to eat in the beautiful Lodge of Ten Peaks, ride the lift to an awe-inspiring viewpoint and the chance to learn why we are the Home of the Grizzly Bear. Cruise for fourteen glorious minutes, in an open chair or a fully enclosed gondola, to one of the world’s great views! From the top, at 2088m (6850ft), the spectacular scenery is yours to explore at will – there are ambitious hikes to the summit of Mt. The Katal Landing Pad is back!

Katal is comprised of a small crew of scientifically inclined skiers and snowboarders dedicated to safe progress in action sports. Their first project, The Landing Pad, was inspired by a tragic accident in February 2005 that left Aaron Coret paralyzed from the neck down. Coret teamed up with best friend and fellow Engineer Steve Slen to build a next generation safety device that would allow skiers and snowboarders to progress riding in a safe environment. The Landing Pad allows you to slide the trick out if you land on your feet and absorbs your impact if you do not, providing a safe learning environment for all ages and ability levels. New Moon LIVE & Sunshine Rockstar Winners

Meet 2010 Olympic silver medalists Jenn Heil and Mike Robertson at Sunshine Village! Jenn, who won the silver in moguls, and Mike, who won the silver in snowboard cross, will be doing autograph signings between 12.30pm and 1.30pm, and again from 3.30pm to 4pm. Marcelle Group reps will also be handing out skin care products and makeup for men and women.

Canadian Powder 8 Championships

Lake Louise will be hosting Canada’s top powder skiers where timing, style and technical ability are combined. Teams of two will carve their way down Lake Louise’s steeps creating 8s in the untracked powder, with the chance to win great prizes. Gentle Giant Fundraiser

Teams of 4 will compete in an exhilarating race, raising money for SADS. Competitors will receive tips from pros racers, breakfast in the Lookout Lounge and lunch in the Sunshine Beer Garden.

Rob Bosinger Memorial Weekend

Sunshine hosts the annual Rob Bosinger Memorial Weekend in honour of Rob Bosinger, who died May 20, 2005 from Sudden Arrhythmia Death Syndrome (SADS).
