Canada’s Highest Resort Opening More Terrain

November 25th, 2011: BANFF-LAKE LOUISE, Alberta, Canada

With close to a meter base of all natural snow, Banff Canada’s Sunshine Village is set to open yet another of its major quad chairs. Accessing Lookout Mountain, the Angel Express will be open to skiers and riders starting this Saturday.

“Sunshine Village’s abundant natural snowfall and unique elevation is creating some of the best early season conditions in the country” says Dan Markham, of Ski Banff-Lake Louise-Sunshine. “If La Nina continues to bring this much snow we should have all three of Sunshine’s mountains wide open very soon”.

Today’s news on Angel comes the day after the Standish quad opened, and just two days after the mini-terrain park began operating off the Strawberry lift. This means seven lifts will be operating: six quad chairs, the high-speed, eight-passenger gondola and two magic carpets.

With the re-opening of the famous Norquay Teahouse this year and the World Cup ski racing community converging on Lake Louise these next two weekends, Sunshine celebrates with Mt. Norquay and the Lake Louise Ski Area in welcoming the world to come and find out why Canada’s Protected Playground is the place to be this season.
