A Weekend of Powder in Banff-Lake Louise
November 17th, 2008: BANFF-LAKE LOUISE, Alberta, Canada
Banff-Lake Louise has been hit with another 25cm of fresh snow in the last 48 hours, bringing base levels to almost 80cm!
Over half a metre of snow has fallen in the past six days and blanketed the world’s finest ski resorts; Mt. Norquay, Lake Louise Ski Area and Sunshine Village, in dry, fluffy powder.
The great early season conditions resulted in a fantastic opening weekend at Sunshine Village. Mt. Norquay and Lake Louise Ski Area both had a great second weekends of the season with more snow, more fun and more powder.
Being the first resorts to open in Canada, and having the most opening day terrain in North America, this is the start of what will surely be a great season. With Lake Louise Ski Area and Sunshine Village open seven days a week, and Mt. Norquay open for weekends until full opening on December 5, soon there will be almost 8,000 acres of skiable terrain and 274 runs available for skiers and riders to enjoy.
Winter is here in Canada’s Protected Playground, Banff National Park.
